everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.

for anyone who’s ever had a bad day or terrible luck

i met a woman the other day. a few years ago she got a call from the hospital saying that her alcoholic mother had fallen and hit her head badly, she was in a coma. so she rushed to the hospital and was told by a doctor that her mother was on life support and nothing would change so she should go home and come back in a few days. once home she recieved a call saying her mother had died whilst she was driving home.

that weekend after cooking sunday lunch for her family, her husband turned to her and said “right, i’ll go pack my bags then”, and he left her for a younger, newer model.

a few weeks later she got a call saying her son at oxford university had tried LSD for the first time and had a bad trip. his friends told him to try it again so it was better the next time. he had another bad trip and jumped off a building killing himself.

whenever you’re having a terrible day, bad luck or just generally feeling the weight of the world just remember this story. i hope then that you feel better about all the good things you really have.

first blog of 2010

probably not the first of many. but i thought i’d just say that this year i am actually going to get somewhere. might not be very far but i know what i want to do and i’m gonna work my ass off to get there,  no matter what anyone thinks. all i can say to them is;
try and keep up bitches.
